Welcome to
My Business Story – a series of events aimed at inspiring you if you’ve ever thought of setting up in business on your own.
The events are being run by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Flexible Support for Business (FS4B) programme in Aberystwyth, Wrexham, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Swansea and Bangor, and are designed specifically for people from under represented groups, including women and young people, individuals from ethnic communities, Welsh speakers and disabled people.
Drawing on the real experiences of people from the world of sport and business, the events will aim to inspire and motivate you if you have ever considered becoming self-employed, but have not been sure how to take the first steps.
Leading figures from the sports world will talk about the similarities between sport and business – inspiration, motivation, focus and self belief – to get you thinking about what you might be capable of if you worked for yourself.
Role models from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Dynamo programme – real people from a range of under-represented backgrounds who are running their own businesses - will hold small scale workshops to tell you about their personal story. They will reveal how they got started in their business, what inspired them to set up and what motivates them to continue; how they overcame the challenges and how they reap the rewards.
They will be truly uplifting events, designed to show everyone that they have the ability to achieve success in self-employment. They will boost your confidence and ensure that you have good, practical advice from experienced support organisations about how to get started.
